Save Centennial Pool Campaign Goals & Updates

The Centennial Pool property is one of the last remaining parcels of public land in Halifax’s city centre. Closing Centennial Pool would be the equivalent of removing two, affordable and accessible, 25m pools on the peninsula.

Save Centennial Pool Committee Goals

  1. to ensure Centennial Pool remains a public facility;
  2. to promote the development of Centennial Pool and other public services offered on the site as opposed to turning the land over to private development, as has been the case with Bloomfield School, St. Pat’s Alexandra or St. Pat’s High);
  3. to support the addition of a new 50m competitive level pool/aquatic complex that will meet the needs of teams and groups in HRM;
  4. to promote the rebuilding of the Needham Community Pool in Halifax’s North End.
